Murray Codference 2024

In 2024 we provided our seventh action-packed free event with sensational speakers sharing the very latest on how our native fisheries and fish populations are tracking, how to have more success and fun on the water and heaps more for the whole family!

Highlights included keynote speaker Lubin Pfeiffer discussing just how great cod fishing across the state is now, and Kate Norman and Colby Lesko sharing the best tips and tricks on how to hook a monster cod.

YouTube fishing legend Robbie Alexander discussed how to make cod fishing accessible for kids and families of all skill levels, and Caitlin Berecry of OzFish Unlimited explained how anglers are contributing to the return of cod through habitat restoration and citizen science.

The VFA and project partners also shared the latest on construction of the Arcadia hatchery expansion, how cod move in rivers and what habitat they use, Cracking the Code on Macquarie perch production, and the 10inTen initiative to boost numbers of threatened species at the Snobs Creek conservation hatchery.

The conference is part of the State Government’s $96 million Go Fishing and Boating Victoria plan to improve recreational fishing, boating, piers and aquaculture.
