Listening to our stakeholders

The Victorian Government is committed to establishing effective and pro-active fisheries consultation processes involving all fishing sectors. Consultation occurs at a number of levels with fisheries stakeholders on a variety of fisheries management issues.

We hold specific consultations and forums relating to proposed changes to the management of fisheries resources each year. Details of consultations under way and the process we follow are available on our Fisheries consultation page.

We are always interested in hearing ideas please provide feedback or any ideas to improving.fishing@vfa.vic.gov.au or post them on the The Victorian Fisheries Authority Facebook page.

Survey of recreational fishing licence holders

In 2018, the Victorian Fisheries Authority (VFA) commissioned Australian Survey Research Group (ASR) to develop, conduct and analyse a survey of Victorian fishing licence holders regarding recreational fishing in Victoria.

This report presents the results of the survey conducted in March and April 2018. The survey focused on Victorian fishing licence holders living in Victoria.
