Recreational

Victoria's inland waters support healthy populations of trout and redfin, and native species such as golden perch, Murray cod and Australian bass. Yabbies and spiny freshwater crayfish are also popular.

Our bays, inlets and oceans support productive recreational fisheries for snapper, King George whiting, flathead, bream, sharks, tuna, calamari and Australian salmon, most of which are caught with hook and line. Scallops, abalone and rock lobster are also taken by recreational divers.
