2018 Report to Parliament update

The Working Group were advised that the 2017-18 RFLTA Report to Parliament was completed and printed but had not yet been tabled in Parliament.

Snobs Creek Annual Report

The Working Group were advised that the inaugural Snobs Creek Annual Report was near completion and would soon be publicly available.

RFGWG Expression of interest process

The Working Group were advised that the RFGWG Expression of Interest process wa currently open.

Gone Fishing Day grants program

The Working Group were provided with a summary of the 2018 Gone Fishing Day Grants program.

RFL funded fisheries research update

The Working Group were provided with information on past, present and future fisheries research projects funded through the RFL Large Grants program.

Regional fishing facilities tour

The Working Group participated in a bus tour of the Bellarine Peninsula which included stops are projects funded by the RFL Large Grants program, VFA Better Fishing Facilities Program and potential future projects.

Tour of Queenscliff centre

Members were provided with a tour of the VFA Queenscliff site including Shellfish Hatchery and Marine and Freshwater Discovery Centre.

2018 VicFishKids program

The Working Group were provided with information on success of the 2018 Vic Fish Kids program with a total attendance 6216 across the six events.

VRFish: Representing Victoria’s recreational fishers

Mike Burgess, EO VRFish presented to the members about the current priorities and activities of VRFish.
