With over 400 kilometres of pristine coastline, stunning beaches and crystal-clear rivers, there’s plenty of water to be enjoyed. Relax on a beach, take a dip in the ocean or just explore stunning rivers.
The picturesque waters of the Gippsland Lakes offer terrific fishing, boating, walking and swimming. Take a tour of the Lakes by boat or foot, or simply immerse yourself in ancient forest brimming with native animals.
Beaches like Metung, Paynesville and Loch Sport are ideal for swimming, paddleboarding and kayaking. For more adventure, head to the Buchan Caves Reserve, where you can explore the underground caves and stunning rock formations.
Wildlife and Nature
With diverse wildlife and stunning natural landscapes, the region's national parks offer the perfect chance to catch a glimpse of a koala, kangaroo or emu.
If you want to slow down the pace and soak it all in, then explore the region by foot, with walking tracks and hikes to suit all ages.
