David has been an avid fisherman for most of his life and has experience with many different styles of fishing. He has fished extensively overseas and is most passionate about fly fishing for trout. As the Chairperson of the Advisory Committee David brings extensive business experience having run his own family business for several decades.
Katherine lives and fishes in the northeast of Victoria and clearly understands the social and economic benefits that recreational fishing brings to regional communities. Katherine brings a range of professional skills to the Advisory Committee and she is a keen advocate for the sustainable management of recreational fisheries, so they can be enjoyed by future generations.
Joanne has been an active fisher in both fresh and salt water for over three decades and has extensive experience in the fishing tackle business sector. Joanne brings excellent business management and accounting skills to the Advisory Committee and is also a very strong advocate of getting more women involved in recreational fishing.
Niki is a keen recreational fisher who has experience in various styles of fishing in both fresh and salt water. She brings an excellent set of business and professional skills to the committee, and also has experience in the workings of fishing clubs being a member of two different fishing clubs.
Geoff has extensive club and committee experience in the Game Fishing sector, which spans over two decades. He is a passionate game fisher for various species of tuna, billfish and sharks, but is equally happy chasing a feed of whiting or calamari in our local bays. Geoff is sitting his second term of appointment on the Advisory Committee.
As a previous employee of Fisheries Victoria, Robert has extensive experience in fisheries management and the administration of grant programs. Robert has been a passionate fisher and hunter for most of his life and is a strong advocate for the outdoor lifestyle.
Josette has extensive experience in marine and estuarine fishing in Port Phillip and Western Port and all the way across Gippsland. She is a true advocate for family fishing having fished with her husband for over 25 years. Josette is sitting her second term of appointment on the Advisory Committee.
Steven is the nominated representative of the Victorian Recreational Fishing Peak Body (VRFish). He provides advice that reflects the views of the Victorian recreational fishing community, as well as organisations affiliated with VRFish, and the VRFish Board. He is a seasoned recreational fisher and has past experience as a member of this Advisory Committee.
Steve or ‘Trelly’ as he is widely known, has been appointed to the Advisory Committee to represent the recreational fishing industry and provide advice that reflects the views of recreational fishers as identified through that industry. When not attending to his tackle business, Trelly loves to unwind by fishing for native species such as Murray cod and golden perch.
