Know your whiting

Some recreational fishers find it challenging to know the difference between a King George whiting and a silver whiting.

King George whiting have:

• Spots on the body
• Clear fins
• More slender body (for size)
• A thicker slime

Silver whiting have:

• A silver stripe along the side of the body
• Clear fins and tail
• Light brown banding/stripes along the body
