Better on-water access in lakes
Go Fishing Victoria (phase two) committed to improving on-water access to inland reservoirs including Barkers Creek, Tullaroop, Lauriston, Upper Coliban, Malmsbury and Hepburn Lagoon.
In April 2019 the first of these six waters, Barkers Creek Reservoir, was opened to canoes and kayaks. Electric motors may be used in canoes and kayaks provided users travel below 5 knots.
In May 2019, Tullaroop Reservoir was also opened up to canoes and kayaks, as well as boats with electric motors. Anglers are able to keep their petrol motor/outboards bolted to the boat, but are only permitted to use an electric motor.
From 1 August 2019, canoes/kayaks were granted access to Upper Coliban, Hepburn, Malmsbury and Lauriston reservoirs, powered by paddle or electric motor.
