Holiday program

The Marine and Freshwater Discovery Centre will be OPEN during the first week of the winter school holidays from Monday 29 June to Friday 03 July, 2020.

Adjustments for COVID 19

COVID 19 restrictions require us:

  • to record the name and contact number of each person visiting the MFDC or participating in the outdoor activities, to allow contact tracing if required.
  • to limit the number of people inside the MFDC at any one time, to ensure we have 1 person per 4 square metres and to not exceed 10 in total on outdoor activities.
  • to clean all touch points in the MFDC between each session.
  • to ensure 1.5 m social distance is maintained between people (who are not of the same household)
  • to restrict entry to people who are unwell.

Winter Holiday Program 2020

The Winter Holiday Program will be limited to:

  • 50 minute experience inside the Marine and Freshwater Discovery Centre
  • 1 hour on-habitat activities  (depending on tides and weather) BOOKED OUT

Children 18 and under must always be accompanied by an adult on activities and in the Centre.

Inside Sessions

Five 50 minutes session are available each day of the holiday program for you to come and explore the MFDC.

3.00 pm to 3.50 pm

Outdoor Sessions - Have Booked Out

You must wear sturdy shoes that can get wet (NO THONGS), bring a jacket, be SunSmart...
Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Cancellation policy

You will not be charged:

  • If we cancel due to unsafe weather conditions.
  • If you cancel due to an illness in your party.

Waiting lists will be kept in case of cancellations.
