Vic Fish Stock (formerly known as CONS) are annual regional fisheries consultative meetings that provide a forum for discussion on fish stocking regimes, fish population surveys and other related recreational fisheries management issues.

The meetings involve invited representatives from Fisheries Victoria, the Victorian Recreational Fishing representative body (VRFish), the Australian Trout Foundation, Native Fish Australia, angling clubs, angling associations, non affiliated anglers, Water Management Corporations, Catchment Management Authorities (CMAs), and other department staff.

The meetings:

  • Review the current year's stocking plan and identify any modifications
  • Draft the following year's stocking plan
  • Identify other issues relevant to fish stocking
  • Identify current fishery management issues
