Be Shark Smart in Victoria
Sharks are a natural part of a healthy marine and estuarine environments. When people enter these environments to surf, swim, fish, dive or snorkel they are entering the shark's natural environment.
While the risk of a shark attack is extremely low, it is important to be mindful of sharks when entering the water. Shark attacks in Victoria are uncommon and there has been no fatality in this state for more than 35 years.
There are things you can do to reduce your risk of being attacked by a shark.
