The RLMPRSC provided recommendations to the Chief Executive Officer of the VFA based on the following objectives:

  1. Provide advice on the review and performance of the Plan;
  2. Provide advice on the review and performance of the Harvest Strategy;
  3. Provide advice on the review of objectives, strategies and actions under the existing plan to establish clear direction for management of the fishery under the new plan, including any necessary regulatory or management changes that may be appropriate;
  4. Identify and make evidence-based recommendations on issues impacting the biological, social, economic and wider ecological factors affecting the performance of the rock lobster fishery (the fishery)

The recommendations provided by the RLMPRSC were used to inform the development of the new plan.
