Come along to free Summer by The Sea fishing fun
05 January 2016
Do you love summer? Do you love fishing? Then you can't go wrong this summer by taking part in the large number of free activities as part of the Summer By The Sea (SBTS) program.
Fisheries Victoria Executive Director Travis Dowling said these activities are part of Target One Million commitments to improve access and grow participation in fishing in Victoria to one million by 2020.
"2016 is the 20th anniversary of the program and it now offers over 250 free events right across Victoria.
"Fisheries Victoria is particularly inviting our junior anglers to come and try their luck at one of our sustainable fishing sessions in January."
Mr Dowling said the one hour 'come and try' fishing clinics are an interactive and fun way for kids to learn fishing techniques, rules and water safety.
He said bait is supplied by Fisheries Victoria as well as fishing rods. However, if you have your own rod and tackle bring them along.
