Other waters

Personal submission (unaffiliated angler). Suggested a major imbalance exists in Port Phillip district in the ratio between the population and fish stocking numbers. Requested that opportunities existed for more waters to be stocked and suggested several new waters that could be investigated for a range of fish species, including native fish (such as Australian bass, estuary perch and golden perch). Many more possible waters were available.

Supported

Investigate possibility of developing a shortened list, in conjunction with The Victorian Fisheries Authority, depending on and including the initial assessment against water quality, access, any requirement for TEP and water managers approval to stock. The Victorian Fisheries Authority is constantly on look out for new waters for opportunities to enhance or promote recreational fishing. All new waters assessed on water quality, access and any requirement for translocation assessment. Waters suggested by proponent not considered at current meeting as many have water quality and/or access and TEP issues.
