Gone Fishing Day grants program

In 2019, for the first time, the Victorian Fisheries Authority will be offering up to 20 fishing clubs the opportunity to receive a $600 (GST exclusive) Gone Fishing Day grant to purchase fishing rods to be used during their fishing clinics.

This will equip fishing clubs with new equipment to run fishing clinics on Gone Fishing Day and future events in their own local area.

Fishing clubs are also encouraged to apply for additional funding to run their event through the Recreational Fishing Small Grants Program.

Applications for the Gone Fishing Day Grants Program will open on 6 September 2019 and close on 7 October 2019.

Funding can be provided for:

  • Fishing rods (limit $40 per rod and reel combo)

Funding will not be considered for projects that:

  • provide no benefit to recreational fishing
  • are held for primarily a commercial purpose
  • are held on private land
  • are only for club members
