VISITOR  INFORMATION

Children 12 and under must always be accompanied by an adult on activities and in the centre.

Entry to the Marine and Freshwater Discovery Centre :

Children/Concession      $ 5

Family                             $25

The Hooked - A Family Fishing Trip and the Marine Biology Cruise activities are subsidised by the Victorian Government's  TARGET ONE MILLION Let's get the Family Fishing Program. A small fee is required for both.

Refunds will be given:

  • If we cancel due to unsafe weather conditions
  • If you cancel and we receive 24 hours notice

Fishy Tales  - Story time 

Suitable for people 2 to 5 years

A morning of beachy tales and craft presented by the Queenscliff Library.  
FREE  admission to children and ONE supervising adult

Ocean Art for children  - $10 per person

Suitable for people 5  to 12 years 
Unleash your child's creativity - with the help of renowned artist/illustrator Jennifer Beck.  
Participants must be accompanied by an adult.

  • Water Colour sketching – Sunday 1st October
    Materials provided but if your child has a sketch book—bring it along.
  • Marine Debris Sculpture (+beachcomb)- Thursday 4th October Materials supplied —participants are encouraged to enrol into the beach discovery beforehand to collect beach debris for use in this activity...

Go fish! - Test your fishing knowledge

Nibbles! - Our fish are fed throughout the day.
You might be lucky enough to see them feeding while you are visiting.

NO booking is necessary — just come along!

BOOKED EVENTS OUTSIDE THE MFDC

You must wear sturdy shoes that can get wet (NO THONGS), bring a jacket,  be SunSmart, children must bring an adult.

Price includes entry to the centre.

Join us on a boat on the bay and learn about fishing practices that are fun and responsible.
Suitable for people 8 years & over
 * You must have a Victorian Recreational Fishing Licence (unless you are exempt).

Fishcare and the Victorian Fisheries Authority have organised experiences that teach all family members how to fish responsibly while enjoying what recreational fishing has to offer.
