VISITOR  INFORMATION

Children 12 and under must always be accompanied by an adult on activities and in the centre.

Entry to the Marine and Freshwater Discovery Centre :

Adults                              $ 8

Children/Concession     $ 5

Family                             $25

Refunds will be given:

  • If we cancel due to unsafe weather conditions
  • If you cancel and we receive 24 hours notice

Booked events inside the MFDC

Ocean Art for children - $10 per person

Suitable for people 5 to 12 yearsUnleash your child's creativity - with the help of renowned artist/illustrator Jennifer Beck.

Participants must be accompanied by an adult.

  • Water Colour sketching
    Materials provided but if your child has a sketch book—bring it along.
  • Marine Debris Sculpture (+beachcomb) Materials supplied—participants are encouraged to enrol into the beach discovery beforehand to collect beach debris for use in this activity...

BOOKED EVENTS OUTSIDE THE MFDC

You must wear  sturdy shoes that can get wet (NO THONGS), bring a jacket,  be SunSmart, children must bring an adult.

Price includes entry to the centre.

Mudflat Meanders—$5 per person

Explore the Swan Bay mudflats and find out about this important fish nursery.

Rockpool Rambles (Point Lonsdale and Barwon Heads) —$5 per person
Which curious creatures make the rockpools their home?

Beach Discoveries (Queenscliff Beach)—$5 per person
What has the tide brought into the shore?

Marine Biology Cruise - $10 per person
Join us on a boat on Port Phillip and discover amazing marine life.
Suitable for people 5 years & over

Hooked—A family fishing activity—$10 per person*
Join us on a boat on the bay and learn about fishing practices that are fun and responsible.
Suitable for people 8 years & over
 * You must have a Victorian Recreational Fishing Licence (unless you are exempt).

  • Shore Snorkel—suitable for ages 8 and up. 
  • Canoeing —suitable for ages 12 and up.

$20 per person
